RFA Opportunities

BD²: Breakthrough Discoveries for thriving with Bipolar Disorder funds science in search of ways to help every person with bipolar disorder thrive. We seek multidisciplinary teams to collaborate and explore the fundamental mechanisms, heterogeneity, progression, and underlying biology of the disorder to dramatically improve systems of care and accelerate research.
Since launch, BD² has invested $89M+ in research commitments.

The Discovery Research program supports an innovative and collaborative group of researchers working together to improve our understanding of the biological mechanisms that underlie bipolar disorder. For this funding cycle, we especially encourage applications that address the cellular and molecular mechanisms of mood-state switching; biological mechanisms by which manic or depressive episodes are induced by external risk factors; or using experimental pharmacology to test causality of a molecular or circuit-level mechanism underlying mood-state switching.

Brain Omics Platform
Brain Omics Platform |
The Brain Omics Platform analyzes a variety of epigenetic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and other omic characteristics of human brain tissue from people with bipolar disorder. Our partners conduct state-of-the-art research to develop the molecular atlas of neural and non-neural changes in people with bipolar disorder. |
