Intern, Program & Operations (PhD/Postdoc Level)
BD2 brings together researchers, clinicians, philanthropists, and people with lived experience to study and treat bipolar disorder in a new way.
Location: Remote (MD, DE, Washington, DC, PA, CO)
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented PhD candidate or postdoctoral-level intern to support program and operational activities across BD².
This role is ideal for someone who excels at synthesizing complex information, managing multiple priorities, and producing polished, high-quality work. You’ll play a key role in keeping projects running smoothly, supporting coordination, communication, and documentation across teams and collaborators.
What You’ll Do
Drive Effective Meetings & Collaboration
- Draft structured, goal-oriented agendas aligned with project priorities
- Coordinate pre-read materials and ensure stakeholders are prepared
- Capture clear, actionable notes, including decisions and next steps
Coordinate Across Teams & Time Zones
- Manage scheduling logistics across multiple stakeholders
- Track availability, send calendar invites, and follow up on action items
Develop Clear, Compelling Presentations
- Create professional, visually engaging slide decks
- Translate complex data and concepts into clear narratives
- Ensure consistency in formatting, branding, and messaging
Track Progress & Support Reporting
- Compile updates from multiple contributors into cohesive reports
- Track milestones and associated deliverables
- Build dashboards or summaries to communicate project status
Support Content & Communications
- Draft and edit newsletters, presentations, and external materials
- Curate key updates and tailor content for different audiences
Strengthen Systems & Processes
- Support documentation, workflows, and governance materials
- Help improve operational efficiency across projects
Who You Are
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a PhD in biomedical sciences
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communicator
- Skilled at synthesizing complex information into clear outputs
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in tools like Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Professional, reliable, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Experienced supporting cross-functional or academic collaborations
- Bring a strong eye for design in presentations and communications
